FTP - Plotting Instruction for HPGL2 plot files

There are a couple of options to plot these files:

 

Option 1:

You can send the plot files to Digital Blueprint in Anchorage, Alaska.  Ask them to use the "dtcompany pen setting file" to plot these files.

 

Option 2:

If you have a HP plotter, you can plot these files out yourself.  These plot files are hardware control which means that you will have to change the setting on your plotter as indicated below.  Once that is done, you can use ms-dos to send these plot files to the plotter by going into the directory where the plot files are, then type copy *.* lpt1 (assuming that your plotter is plugged into your lpt1 port).  You can also use this ppspool software to send plot files to your plotter.

Note: by changing these setting, it will no way affect your your ability to plot AutoCAD files correctly since AutoCAD plot files are software control which means that you'll be using palette software instead of palette A or B to plot AutoCAD files.

Using either Palette A or Palette B change the following setting:

Pen 0, Width = 0.35mm, Color = 0      

Pen 1, Width = 0.25mm, Color = 1      

Pen 2, Width = 0.13mm, Color = 1

Pen 3, Width = 0.50mm, Color = 1

Pen 4, Width = 0.18mm, Color = 1

Pen 5, Width = 1.00mm, Color = 1

Pen 6, Width = 0.25mm, Color = 1

Pen 7, Width = 0.25mm, Color = 1

Pen 8, Width = 0.25mm, Color = 10

Pen 9, Width = 0.25mm, Color = 8

Pen 10, Width = 0.80mm, Color = 1

Pen 11, Width = 0.25mm, Color = 1

Pen 12, Width = 0.70mm, Color = 1

Pen 13, Width = 0.25mm, Color = 1

Pen 14, Width = 0.65mm, Color =1

Pen 15, Width = 0.90mm, Color = 1
